Jyothi Yarraji first come into the spotlight in 2015 after winning the gold medal at an Andhra Pradesh inter-district meet. In Nov. 2015, she competed in the 100 m. hurdles race at the Indian Under-18 Championships held in Ranchi, Jharkhand; however she could not qualify for the second round. In 2016, she moved to the SAI Centre in Hyderabad to train under the coach N Ramesh, an Olympian and Dronacharya Award. In June 2016, she participated in the 100 m. hurdle race in the inter-state championships held in Hyderabad Telangana; however she came 6th in the first round. In Nov. 2016, she came 4th in final of the 100 m. hurdle race in the Indian Under-18 Championships held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

In November 2017, she came 6th in final of the 100-metre hurdles race in the Indian Under-20 Championships Heald in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

In April 2018 she came 4th in the final of the 100 Metre hurdles race in the Indian U20 Championships held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In November 2018 she won the bronze in the 100 meter hurdle race at the Indian U20 championships held in Ranchi, Jharkhand. In 2018, she started training at the Centre of Excellence at Guntur, which got closed after the change of Govt. in the state in 2019.

In August 2019, she came 7th in the Semi-finals of the 100 meters race and won the gold in the 100 meters hurdles in the All India Inter-State Championships held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. In 2019 she moved to the Odisha Reliance Athletics High-performance Centre in Bhubaneswar, Odisha after the British Coach James Hillier, who saw Jyothi in All- India Inter-state championships held in Lucknow Persuded her to train at HPC and made a plan specifically designed for her training.

In January 2020 she won the gold in the 100 meters race and 100 m. hurdles in the Indian University Championships held in Moodbidri, Karnataka. 2020 the camp was cancelled due to the increase COVID-19 cases.

In 2021 she suffard injuries due to her confidence dropped; however her coach James and his team worked hard with Jyothi to help her recover from the injuries and gain her confidence back.

In February 2022 she won the gold in the 100 m. hurdles in the All India Inter-University Championships held in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. In April 2022, she won the gold in the 100 meters hurdles and came 7th in the final of the 200 m. race. in the National Federation Cup.

In August 2022 she won the silver in both the 100 m. Raceans 4 x100 m. relay race in the All India Inter-Railway Athletics. In Oct. 2022, she won the gold in both events, 100 m. hurdles and100 m. race in the 36th National Games held in Gujarat. and she won the gold in the 36th National games.

Asian Championship 2023:-

In early 2023, she broke the National record for indoor 60 meters hurdles five times, apart from winning the silver in the 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships at Astana.

In July 2023 she won the Gold competing in women’s 100m hurdles, Jyothi Yarraji could not match her national record of 12.82s under wet conditions but her timing of 13.09s was enough to beat Asuka Terada of japan, who came a close second clocking 13.13s. this was the first gold medal for the 23 year old Jyothi Yarraji at the Continental event.

In October 2023 She won the Silver Medal in the Women’s 100 hurdles at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023.
