Later, she claimed to be false leading to a marriage and then separating her husband. and then she returned to her maternal home along with her four-year old son in 2004. while solely raising her son as a single mother, she decided to pursue a career in media. After Completing her study, she earned her first job as a court reporter at the (Free Press Junrnal) in November 2005. she worked for 10 months. her first assignment was to cover gangster Abu Salem’s case at the TADA court situated inside Arthur Road Jail.She made a name for herself in crime reporting over the next six years where she went from rookie reporter to Deputy bureau chief at the English broadsheet.

In 2006 Jigna joined Mumbai Mirror as a court reporter where her assignment was at the sessions court in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. She covered her first underworld story when Sujata Nikalje, dreaded gangster Chhota Rajan’s wife, was arrested for extortion threats against a builder under the MCOCA.After that Jigna Vora worked started working for Mid-Day as a senoir reporter for the sessions court. She worked with J Dey.

In May 2008, she joined Asian Age, the publishing division of Deccan Chronicle. As a journalist, she filled in the stories of various accused such as a Fahmeeda (accused of the bomb blast), Maria Susairaj (Accused in the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case), Jaya Chheda (accused of killing her husband ) etc. Among the stories that garnered her praise were a series of reports on the killing of gang member Fareed Tanasha in Tilaknagar. articles on the activities of right-wing terror groups from Gujarat, and a land scam in Andheri which had at its Centre a landlord who had been declared dead several times despite being alive and kicking all along.

In 2011, before being arrested for his alleged involvement in J Dey’s murder, she worked as the Deputy Head of Zaman Asia Bureau. she arrest for alleged involvement in J Dey’s Murder. After undergoing a Spiritual transformation in prison, she became a consiousness healer and teacher of Aatmic Consciousness. She holds home meditation classes and offers personal consultations on healing techniques. She is also a professional tarot card reader who holds sessions at home.

Jigna Vora Relations to J Dey murder Case:-

On 11 June 2011, J Dey was killed in a shooting by unknown assailants in Hiranandani gardens, Powai, Mumbai. Later the assailants were identified as hitman of the underworld Don Chotta Rajan. On 25 November 2011, Jigna who was working as the Deputy Head of Zaman Asian Age, was taken into police custody for her alleged role in the murder. Police alleged that vora gave Rajan important details about Dey, including his residence and his motorcycle’s No. plate, to plan the murder. Investigating officer Himanshu Roy cited telephonic records ph. calls between Rajan and Vora to level the murder allegations against her. The Police also claimed that Vora’s professional rivalry was the reason for Dey’s murder. the police did not have a piece of strong evidence to implicate her. She remained in Jail for 9 months.

On 27 July 2012, Jigna Vora was granted bail by a special court observing that she had a child to look after and was a single parent. Special MCOCA court judge S M Modak also noted that she had no previous criminal record.

In 2018 the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act court convicted Chotta Rajan and 8 others accused in the case and acquitted, while Vora was acquitted for lack of evidence.
